Program Overview

The Ultrasound Department of the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University  School of Medicine, established in 1960, has evolved into an open, integrated base for medical education, research, and clinical practice through the concerted efforts of several generations of ultrasound professionals. The department boasts outstanding achievements in cutting-edge and core clinical diagnostic and treatment technologies. With over 100 healthcare professionals, 77% of whom hold master's or doctoral degrees, the department offers comprehensive sub-specialties covering abdominal, interventional, cardiac, superficial, obstetric and gynecological, vascular, and urological ultrasound. Our diagnostic volume and complexity of cases are among the leading in Zhejiang Province and nationally renowned.

This international workshop, "Medical-Engineering Translational Research in Ultrasound Interventional Ablation," aims to advance the globalization of our department by attracting international medical students and healthcare professionals for advanced training. It leverages the department's expertise and resources to foster global understanding and collaboration in ultrasound interventional ablation research.

Training Objectives

1. Understand the principles and applications of interventional ultrasound, such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), irreversible electroporation (IRE)

Research Overview

Target Audience & Qualifications

Undergraduate students:

Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in radiology, ultrasound, surgery, oncology or surgery medicine. Prior coursework in molecular biology or immunology is preferred.  Basic proficiency in English is required.

Graduate students:

Candidates must be enrolled in a Master’s, M.D. or Ph.D. program in radiology, ultrasound, surgery, oncology or surgery medicine. Familiarity with research methodologies and laboratory techniques is required. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Researcher fellows:

Applicants should have an advanced degree (M.Sc. M.D. Ph.D. or equivalent) in a radiology, ultrasound, surgery, oncology or surgery medicine with some prior research experience. Candidates demonstrate an ability to work independently and contribute to team projects. Proficiency in English is essential.

Doctors:

Candidates must hold an M.D. degree with clinical experience, preferably in radiology, ultrasound, surgery, oncology or surgery medicine. Research experience is not mandatory but is a strong advantage. Applicants must be fluent in English.

Postdocs:

Postdoctoral fellows should have a Ph.D. in radiology, ultrasound, surgery, oncology, or an M.D. with clinical training in medicine, or the equivalent of education, training and experience. Candidates should be fluent in English.
