Program Overview

The General Practice Clinical Training Program at the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine aims to provide training in the field of general practice for outstanding medical students and general practitioners from various regions around the world. The training content covers the diagnosis and management of ( Medical unspecified disease, MUD ) in general practice, chronic diseases, and multimorbidity, as well as how to integrate concepts such as narrative medicine and integrative medicine into general practice.

Mission: Committed to the cultivation of outstanding general practitioners.

 

Target Audience:

1. Medical students who have completed their theoretical courses and clinical internships in clinical medicine.

2. Physicians currently undergoing standardized residency training in general practice.

3. General practitioners who have completed standardized training in general practice.

Target Audience & Qualifications

 Fellows: Eligible applicants for a specialized training program in MUD within general practice must have completed a general practice specialty physician training program at an accredited institution.

 Residents: To qualify for a specialty training program in MUD within general practice, applicants must successfully complete a residency training program in general medicine at an accredited institution. Your general practice training can be accomplished through the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University or other accredited general practice medical education programs.

 Students:

1. Must be a graduating student: Applicants must be in their final year of medical school at the time of planning to participate in the specialty rotation. This means that by the start of the clinical elective, you have completed all core/required internship rotations.

2. Approval from the medical school: A letter from the medical school's academic affairs office is required, stating that you are a graduating student, your expected graduation date, that you have a good academic standing, and that you meet all the requirements to complete elective courses to earn academic credits.


Focus Areas & Skills

Training covers the following clinical areas: undifferentiated diseases, multimorbidity, and chronic disease management techniques:

1. Patient-doctor communication skills;

2. Psychotherapy skills: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), etc.
