Jichao Qin
Director of the department of gastrointestinal surgery
Dr. Qin focuses on the specialty of gastrointestinal surgery, especially the gastrointestinal tumor.
This program aims to provide a high-level learning and communication platform for medical students, residency and fellowship, help students improve the skill of laparoscopic surgery (especially laparoscopic gastrectomy, appendectomy, ension-free hernioplasty). For gastrointestinal tumors, the radical lymphadenectomy plus complete mesocolic excision (CME) was the standard procedure. We proposed a mesentery-concept-based procedure (D2+CME) in the surgical treatment of advanced gastric cancer in this program.
Focused on training in laparoscopic techniques for gastrointestinal disease, such as gastrointestinal tumors, appendix, and hernia. All students will have ample training opportunities in a one-on-one setting with our surgeons.
All surgeons have proficient experience in laparoscopic surgery.
Participating in rounds each morning as part of a small team working with one surgeon. During rounds, new patients are presented, inpatient management is reviewed, and teaching sessions are held.
The aim of our program is to help students improve their laparoscopic skills of gastrointestinal surgery. Meanwhile, students need to understand the perioperative treatment of advanced gastric cancer, and mesentery-concept-based procedure (D2+CME) by laparoscopic gastrectomy.
This program provides a full-time, 2-month to 6-month training experience. In special circumstances, arrangements can be made for other lengths of training depending on your needs and interests.
