FAHZU Hematology is one of the comprehensive hematology specialties with the largest specialty scale, the largest number of beds, balanced development of sub-specialties, strong technical strength and integration of teaching, medical treatment and scientific research in China. We are a State Key Clinical Specialty, a leading Hematology unit in Zhejiang Province, and the Innovation Team of leukemia of Zhejiang Science and Technology Department. Founded in the early 1950s, our discipline is among the first batch of doctoral and master degree conferral hospitals in the country. We have been ranked in the top 5 on China Hospital Specialty Reputation Ranking for 6 consecutive years, continuing to be a domestically leading specialty in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological malignancies, especially leukemias and unrelated donor allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

We focus on the prevention, treatment and transformation of hematological tumors that seriously endanger human health, such as leukemia. Provincial and state key laboratories for basic and transformation research are set up, which completed the construction of a multi-level medical cooperation network and more than 50 clinical research on new drugs and therapies. The bio-bank platform we have built has more than 50,000 biological samples of malignant hematological diseases, laying a solid foundation for high-level, multi-center clinical and transformation research. Our department has unique features in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors in various hematological systems. We also have a research team which meets international standards, responsible for leading a number of prospective, multi-center clinical trials.

In recent years, we have undertaken dozens of projects including 3 sub-projects of the 863 Key Programs, 2 sub-projects of 973 Key Programs, 3 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, general projects of the National Natural Science Fund, key projects of Zhejiang Science & Technology Department and Health Department, and Outstanding Youth Team of the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Fund. Our total research fund reaches over 30 million RMB. As the first completion unit, we have won 3 National Second Prizes for Progress in Science and Technology and 21 provincial & ministerial scientific research prizes. Besides, we have published nearly 200 SCI-indexed papers.
