Dr. Zhang Qin is Director of the Department of Geriatric Medicine and serves as Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Physical/Chemical and Age-Related Injury Diseases, as well as Director of the Key Laboratory for Research on Frailty and Deficiency in the Elderly. She has long been dedicated to clinical and basic research in sarcopenia, frailty, disability, and multimorbidity in the elderly, with a focus on risk factors, pathogenesis, early screening, and intervention strategies. She has led over 20 research projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Key R&D Program, and has contributed to national key R&D initiatives. Dr. Zhang has drafted expert consensus documents such as the Chinese Expert Consensus on Frailty Prevention in the Elderly (2022) and the Chinese Expert Consensus on Outpatient Management of Sarcopenia in the Elderly (2024 Edition), and has participated in the development of multiple clinical guidelines and standards. She also served as associate editor for the electronic version of the national textbook Geriatrics for fifth-year clinical medicine undergraduates.
