Biography
Dr. MA Tao got his MD degree from Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2007. And he finished his PhD training in 2012 in Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He is now an attending surgeon in department of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of medicine (FAHZU). He also serves as the deputy director of International Affairs Department of FAHZU from May, 2020. His research interests are mainly in mechanisms of liver regeneration, graft protection in liver transplantation, management of complications after pancreatic surgery, and treatments of pancreatic cancer.
He has published several research papers as the first or corresponding author, including in top rank journals such like American journal of Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, and Cancer Letters. He has been granted two funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one fund from the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation. He was awarded as one of main contributors of Science and Technology Progress Award, Ministry of Education (2014) and Scientific and Technological Award of Zhejiang Province (2019).
