Huang Jianrong, professor, chief physician, master tutor, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, the deputy director of Zhejiang Artificial Live Center and the Department of Infectious Diseases in the First Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of severe viral hepatitis for more than 30 years. Professor Huang has participated in the investigation and development of Artificial Liver Support System (ALSS), which has been applied in more than 1000 severe hepatitis patients (4000 person-times). He has organized or taken part in organizing International Symposiums on hepatic failure and artificial liver for six times, and national training courses on ALSS for 15 times. Professor Huang participated in the organization of Liver Failure and Artificial Liver Group, Society of Infectious Diseases, CMA, and is one of the main editors of Treatment Guideline on Artificial Liver Support System and Guideline for Diagnosis and Treatment of Liver Failure. Besides，he has committed to many research projects such as “973 Project”, “863 Project” and national natural science foundation of China. He has published more than 200 papers. By now, the research on ALSS in treating severe hepatitis has won the Second Prize of National Scientific & Technological Progress Award, and the research on the popularization and application of ALSS has won the First Prize of Scientific & Technical Progress Award by Chinese Ministry of Education and Second Prize of Provincial Scientific & Technological Progress Award.
