Since 2007, Dr. Hu has been working in the Clinical Laboratory at FAHZU, mainly engaging in clinical biochemical testing, as well as thrombosis and hemostasis testing. He is specialized in the quality management and standardized construction of medical laboratories.

Dr. Hu has presided over and participated in five research projects including the Zhejiang Provincial Basic Public Welfare Program and the Talent Program of Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission. He also participated in formulating one industrial standard for digital medical laboratories, and have published seven academic papers as the first author or corresponding author.
