Biography
Dr. HAN Weili is a thoracic surgeon and Chief of the Department of Lung Transplantation at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University.
Dr. Han received his medical degree from Zhejiang Medical School. As a well-known thoracic surgeon in China, Dr. Han established the first lung transplant program in Zhejiang Province in 2016. Since then, many difficult lung transplantations have been done, including lung transplantations for Kartagener syndrome patients and COVID-19 pneumonia patients. Dr. Han performed the first lung transplantation for elderly COVID-19 pneumonia patients in the world.
Dr. Han’s clinical interests include lung and heart-lung transplantation, minimally invasive thoracic surgery and double-sleeve resection of locally advanced lung cancer. His research is focused on lung preservation and transplant immunology.
