He graduated from Zhejiang University school of medicine in 2003. After that, he studied cancer medicine in the graduate school of Zhejiang University and UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. He finished training as a surgical resident and fellow in the affiliated hospital of ZJUSM. He got specialized training in Gastrointestinal surgery in Digestive Disease Institute of Cleveland Clinic.
