Biography

Dr. ZHENG holds a PhD and serves as Chief Technician, Distinguished Research Fellow, Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Deputy Director of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Clinical In Vitro Diagnostic Techniques. He is recipient of the Zhejiang Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund, and has been selected for the Zhejiang Provincial Medical Rising Star Program and the Clinical Top Talent Program of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chair of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association's Laboratory Medicine Branch, Member of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Medical Association of Laboratory Medicine Branch and Vice Chair of the Zhejiang Provincial Medical Association of Laboratory Medicine Branch. He was a Visiting Scholar at Monash University, Australia. 

He is mainly engaged in research on pathogenic diagnosis of infectious diseases and mechanisms of disease severity progression. He has led three National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, including the Original Exploration Program, and one sub-project under the National Key R&D Program. He has published over 30 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author (including co-authorship) in journals such as BMJ and Advanced Science. As a key contributor, he received one Special Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and one Second Prize of the Ministry of Education's Technological Invention Award.
