Biography
Dr. Li Xiaomu is a Distinguished Clinical Medical Educator of Zhejiang University, Chief Physician, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. She previously served as Executive Deputy Director, Chief Physician and Research Fellow of the Department of Endocrinology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.
She holds multiple academic posts: National Committee Member of the Diabetes Society of Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chairman of the Diabetes Society of Shanghai Medical Association, and Deputy Group Leader of the Tumor Endocrinology Group under the Endocrinologist Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
With over 20 years of clinical experience in endocrinology, she adheres to a patient-centered philosophy and delivers precise, efficient and individualized care. She is one of the core drafting authors of authoritative clinical guidelines including the Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes (2020 & 2024 Editions).
By integrating clinical intervention research and translational basic science, she has achieved groundbreaking advances in three key areas:
- Clinical and mechanistic research on pancreatic β-cell function protection. She has established an innovative individualized diagnosis and treatment framework for type 2 diabetes, explored regulatory mechanisms of β-cell function, and identified novel therapeutic targets for diabetes.
- Innovative application of artificial intelligence. She has developed a hospital-wide blood glucose management system, decision-making platforms for hypoglycemic agents, and diagnostic models for complex disorders, with multiple patented technologies successfully translated into clinical use.
- Diagnosis and precision treatment of rare and complicated endocrine diseases. Her research covers endocrine complications from tumor immunotherapy, primary aldosteronism, Cushing’s syndrome and other refractory disorders. She has established characteristic biomarker systems for these conditions and promoted translational innovation of precision therapies.

Diagnosis and management of diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, pituitary disorders, endocrine adverse events induced by tumor immunotherapy, and refractory hypertension.
