Dr. ZHU Yu is a Doctor of Neurosurgery jointly trained by China and the United States under the public sponsorship of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. He currently serves as Associate Chief Physician and Director Assistant of the Department of Neurosurgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine—a National Clinical Key Specialty. He is also a Master's Supervisor at Zhejiang University, and a Visiting Scholar at The Johns Hopkins Hospital (USA) and Addenbrooke's Hospital, University of Cambridge (UK).

With years of clinical experience in diagnosing and treating neurosurgical diseases, Dr. ZHU holds multiple academic positions, including Youth Committee Member of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Youth Committee Member of the Neurosurgery Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, Deputy Director of the Youth Committee of the Neurosurgery Branch of Zhejiang Neuroscience Society, and Expert of Zhejiang Health Science and Technology.

He has published more than 50 SCI papers, presided over and participated in 4 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 1 Zhejiang Key R&D Program. He served as the Associate Chief Translator of the textbook Principles of Neurological Surgery (4^th Edition), and as a member of the expert group, he participated in compiling 1 National Clinical Expert Consensus. He also serves as Youth Editor of the SCI journal Journal of Neurorestoratology and Special Reviewer for multiple SCI journals such as CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics.

Diagnosis and treatment of various common and complex neurosurgical diseases, with particular expertise in minimally invasive treatment of neuraspinal and spinal Cord diseases including spinal cord tumors, syringomyelia, Chiari malformation, cervical spondylosis and lumbar spondylosis.
