Biography
Dr. Yue Wang currently is a Chief Surgeon and Vice dean in the department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Wang was trained in orthopedic surgery in the prestigious Xiangya Hosptial at the Central South University. From 2008 to 2011, he did a PhD program at University of Alberta, Canada. Then, he did a fellowship at the Royal Alexander Hospital, Canada. Dr. Wang was further trained as a fellow at The University of Hong Kong in 2015 and Beijing University in 2016. Dr. Wang’s practice covers all domains of spine disorders, including neck and back pain, spine degenerative diseases such as lumbar disc herniation, spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis, spine tumor and spinal deformity. Scientific Research
Dr. Wang is an internationally recognized spine researcher. His research mainly focuses on epidemiology, imaging and pathological studies of degenerative lumbar disorders. He has published more than 40 academic papers in the mainstream international spine journals, such as JBJS, JMR, Spine J, Spine and European Spine J, and won a number of international and national academic awards. He presented his research in more than 20 international spine conferences. He also co-authored five books, including an English book The Intervertebral Disc. In 2012, Dr. Wang was awarded the ISSLS Prize, the most well recognized award in spine research, for his outstanding research on endplate lesions. Dr. Wang is a member of AOSpine, NASS and ISSLS, and served as a reviewer for a number of international journals on spine.
