Dr. Chen graduated from the medical department of Medical College of Nanjing Southeast University in 1982. He was once the director and vice president of the orthopedic department of Jinhua central hospital. In 2006, he was transferred to the orthopedic department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University and served as the vice director of orthopedic department. From May 2011 to June 2015, he was dispatched to Ningbo Beilun branch of Zhejiang University First Hospital to serve as the director, vice president and President of orthopedic department. He has been engaged in medical treatment, teaching and scientific research for more than 30 years, focusing on neck, shoulder, lumbocrural pain, spinal deformity, spinal fracture, spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve injury. He has successively studied in spine surgery in Shanghai Huashan Hospital, Shanghai Long March Hospital, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing Union Medical College Hospital, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Peking University and other hospitals. As a visiting scholar, he has conducted academic exchanges in the Royal Medical Center of Nottingham, UK, and the orthopedic department of the School of biology of Liverpool University, UK.

In August 2015, he took the lead in organizing the establishment of the spine minimally invasive center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University and served as the director of the spine minimally invasive center. We have established Sino German spinal minimally invasive center in cooperation with ISAR hospital, a famous spinal minimally invasive center in Germany, and established a long-term technical cooperation relationship with Taiwan's famous spinal minimally invasive center to jointly build an international exchange platform for spinal minimally invasive treatment.
