About Us

Welcome to the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, FAHZU. Our mission is to (1) provide superb evidence-based care for patients with diabetes, obesity, diseases of thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands, bone and mineral disorders; (2) conduct innovative basic, clinical and translational research to explore new knowledge and improve treatment of endocrine diseases; and, (3) provide outstanding educational programs for students, fellows, clinicians and the community.

Patient Care

We are quite experienced in management of diabetes and its complications, thyroid disease, adrenal, gonadal and pituitary disease, bone and mineral disorders. Our team of doctors, researchers and staff use their expertise in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism to compassionately and completely treat your endocrine-related condition.

We have undertaken a number of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation, Zhejiang Science and Technology Department, Zhejiang Provincial Education Department, Zhejiang Provincial Health Department and other funds, more than 300 papers published at home and abroad.

In 1980, 1994 and 1996, we led Zhejiang Province to participate in the National Diabetes Epidemiology Survey three times and won the second prize of scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Health in 1984 for the First Zhejiang Diabetes Epidemiology Survey. In 1996, we are involved in the research of joint transplantation of pancreas and kidney and won the 1996 National Science and Technology Progress Award.
