After nearly 20 years of development, the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the FAHZU has been the clinical, teaching and scientific research center of rehabilitation medicine in Zhejiang province, undertaking the task of rehabilitation for complex diseases in the whole province, and the medical level is in the forefront of general hospitals. The department is composed of the outpatient, ward, hyperbaric oxygen center, independent functional assessment area and rehabilitation function training area (including PT/OT/ST, etc.). The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is now responsible for the rehabilitation consultation and severe rehabilitation of all patients in the FAHZU, as well as the rehabilitation of the difficult and complicated patients in Zhejiang province.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine consists of more than 60 rehabilitation medicine professionals, including 23 physiatrists，34 rehabilitation therapists and 16 nurses. Chen Zuobing, as the leader of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, is the executive director of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, the first chairman of the special committee on combination of medical and nursing care of Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, the first chairman of the special committee on combination of medical and nursing care of Zhejiang Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, the vice-chairman of Zhejiang Disabled Persons’ Federation, the vice president of Zhejiang Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and so on.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine offers diverse subspecialty rehabilitation, such as intensive rehabilitation, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), sports rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, postpartum rehabilitation, postoperative rehabilitation of breast, rare diseases rehabilitation and so on. Our services also include a comprehensive Physical Agent Therapy unit, equipped with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, laser, and shockwave devices The facilities of the department are advanced. In addition to the traditional rehabilitation equipment, the department is also equipped with CPET, musculoskeletal ultrasound, shock wave, rehabilitation robot, multi-functional scenario simulation assessment and training instrument and other high-tech equipment.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine has undertook and participated in more than 20 national and provincial projects. Meanwhile, the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is the first national resident standardized training base and is the deputy editor of Rehabilitation Medicine which is published by People's Health Publishing House for national resident standardized training. The department is also the editor-in-chief unit of the Expert Consensus on the Integration of Medical and Nursing in China, the editor-in-chief unit of the Guide of the Combination of Medical and Nursing Rehabilitation, the director unit of the quality control center of rehabilitation medicine for standardized resident training in Zhejiang Province and the practice base of rehabilitation nursing specialist nurses in Zhejiang Province. Our department holds a leading position in visceral organ rehabilitation for critical to subacute patients.
