Overview

Founded in 1991, the FAHZU Neurology Department has developed rapidly in the past 30 years. It is composed of 3 wards including 137 beds. In terms of overall strength, it has been nominated 2nd in East China. With more than 120, 000 outpatients and 3, 000 inpatients annually, we are trusted by patients throughout the whole country. Our Neurologists and researchers have also published multiple articles in journals including Neurology, Aging and Disease, Translational Stroke Research, Brain Stimulation.


Our Team

Our department consists of 32 specialist doctors, including 15 with senior titles and 13 intermediate titles, and 14 neuroelectrophysiologists and other technicians, some of whom have gained national and international recognition for their clinical and research efforts. Our faculty members of excellence includes Chairman of the Neurology Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, Standing Member of Neurology Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Member of Neurology Branch of Chinese Medical Association and Executive Director of Chinese Stroke Society. We are united by a common purpose: seeking new treatments and cures that will reduce and ultimately eliminate the devastating impact, and improve the lives of patients with nervous system diseases.

We provide the most advanced treatments for conditions including but not limited to:

Cerebrovascular diseases, especially at acute stage

Neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia with lewy bodies, Frontotemporal lobar degeneration, etc.

Epilepsy, autoimmune encephalitis

Neuromuscular diseases, muscular diseases, and Peripheral neuropathies

Demyelinating diseases, such as NMO disease, Multiple sclerosis

Other nervous system diseases




Research & Innovation

We provide clinical excellence in our practice, from treating Alzheimer diseases, vascular cognitive impairment, to Parkinson disease, and we offer a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of several difficult miscellaneous disease. At our department, every patient receives a seamless continuum of care. 


Education & Training

The Department of Neurology at FAHZU is deeply committed to training expert clinicians, clinical investigators, and medical educators who will go on to be future leaders in the field. Various featured programs are arranged for different types of trainees, including entrance training, regular lectures, ward inspection, case study, clinical reasoning, case discussion, skill training, etc.
