Research & Innovation

Building upon the strengths of Zhejiang University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, our department specializes in thoracic, urological, and gastrointestinal tumors. We have initiated and participated in numerous international and domestic multicenter clinical studies, with some research outcomes contributing to updates in clinical guidelines. At the same time, the department has established long-term and stable partnerships with internationally leading medical centers, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, UCLA Health hospitals, and Stanford Medicine, among others. Additionally, we have developed a comprehensive translational research system that bridges basic science and clinical practice, enabling cutting-edge international technologies to be applied in clinical settings as early as possible, thereby benefiting cancer patients sooner.

Leveraging these foundations, our team has secured multiple grants from the National Natural Science Foundation and the Provincial Natural Science Foundation, published several SCI-indexed papers (with the highest impact factor reaching 30.840), and contributed to the compilation of multiple authoritative medical texts published by People's Medical Publishing House.

Education & Training

The department has long been engaged in training visiting physicians from both domestic and international institutions, with multiple trainees publishing academic papers under the department's mentorship. Additionally, the department has established strong collaborative relationships with top international oncology teams. We annually host the provincial continuing education program, the "West Lake Lung Cancer Forum," and organize one to two national and regional oncology academic conferences each year, regularly inviting renowned experts from home and abroad for exchange visits and discussions.
