On April 9, 2026, the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU) hosted the Qiantang Dialogue: Belt and Road Forum on Smart Anesthesia and Innovation in Perioperative Management in Hangzhou, bringing together 26 leading experts from 9 Belt and Road countries.

Under the theme “Empowering with Digital Intelligence, Anesthesia without Borders,” the forum created a high-level platform for international exchange on smart anesthesia, perioperative safety, critical care innovation, and talent development.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Hu Xin, Director of the Department of International Affairs at FAHZU.
In his opening remarks, Prof. LIANG Tingbo, President of FAHZU, emphasized that anesthesiology is fundamental to modern medicine and that digital transformation is reshaping perioperative care. He noted that the forum represents an important step in deepening collaboration across Belt and Road partners in smart technologies, clinical innovation, and global medical education.


The academic sessions, chaired by Prof. ZHENG Yueying, Vice Chair of FAHZU’s Department of Anesthesiology, featured in-depth discussions on the future of intelligent perioperative medicine.

Prof. SU Diansan, Chair of the department, shared the latest advances in organ transplant anesthesia, perioperative safety systems, high-flow oxygen therapy, translational clinical research, and specialist training, highlighting the role of precision monitoring, intelligent decision support, and multidisciplinary management in improving surgical outcomes.

Offering an international perspective, Prof. Daniel Lovrić of Croatia presented advanced approaches to cardiogenic shock and perioperative critical care, focusing on hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support, and data-guided clinical decision-making. He stressed that sustained global exchange is essential to advancing critical care standards worldwide.

The forum further reinforced FAHZU’s leadership in smart anesthesia and perioperative innovation, injecting new momentum into the development of a more connected and collaborative global healthcare community.
