FAHZU Resolves 6-Year Medical Odyssey in 7 Days: A Testament to China’s Healthcare Excellence

2025-02-14

After six years of global medical consultations spanning Bangladesh, India, and Singapore, Saleh, a 50-year-old trader from Bangladesh, finally found cure at The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU). What had confounded international experts was resolved in just seven days at the renowned Chinese hospital.

In 2018, Saleh began experiencing severe leg pain initially dismissed as age-related discomfort. Diagnosed with arteriosclerosis obliterans in India, he received temporary relief through medication. However, by 2024, his condition worsened, with symptoms spreading to his right leg and left arm. A referral to Singaporean hospitals proposed stent implantation but came with a three-month wait-list and prohibitive costs.

Hope emerged when a Chinese business partner recommended FAHZU’s Vascular Surgery Department. Upon arrival, Professor LI Donglin, Director of Vascular Surgery, identified a rare primary aortic mural thrombus—a condition where blood clots from the aorta’s wall had caused multiple arterial blockages. This critical diagnosis, overlooked in prior consultations, paved the way for urgent intervention.

On the fourth day of his stay, Saleh underwent a groundbreaking hybrid surgery combining open thrombectomy and balloon angioplasty. Despite the complexity of removing six-year-old, adherent clots, FAHZU’s team restored blood flow to both legs in a single operation. By day seven, Saleh was discharged, walking pain-free and marveling at his rapid recovery.

“In China, a week solved what six years abroad could not. This is world-class care,” Saleh remarked, praising FAHZU’s efficiency and compassionate international patient services.

FAHZU’s Vascular Surgery Department, a national leader in minimally invasive techniques, continues to pioneer treatments for complex vascular diseases. Saleh’s case underscores China’s growing reputation for high-quality, accessible healthcare—a narrative increasingly echoed by global patients.

At the International Healthcare Center of FAHZU, Saleh discovered more than clinical solutions for his physical condition – he experienced compassionate care in an unfamiliar country. The hospital's patient-centered approach, powered by intelligent diagnosis systems and a welcoming healing environment, has redefined medical hospitality. This holistic combination of humanized expertise and smart healthcare processes has not only optimized treatment efficiency but also earned Saleh's profound trust in China's advanced medical capabilities.
